Some useful contacts made this week in relation to moving the project forward. Our dedicated 'man on the ground' for the QMP software impressed us with his knowledge of the system and gave us the outline of his QMP workshop. This which will introduce teaching staff to the software and get them started with authoring their own assessment questions. At the same time the ITEAM will offer workshops on the development of MCQs in response to a number of requests from Schools for a revision session on writing good (and avoiding bad) questions. This latter workshop is part of the work to ensure the technologies we use, both electronic voting and QMP, are framed by a sound understanding of good assessment practices. All the ITEAM workshops are built around the ESCAPEassessment principles so we link back to these constantly to ensure we keep the project firmly grounded in sound teaching practice.
Back after Easter, with plans to meet the stakeholders and our new team members, Francesca Entwistle and Janet Webber.
A JISC funded project at the University of Hertfordshire.
